Best travel sites - Everything from flights, to hotels and car hire

Not quite sure where to look to book your next adventure? I've got you covered, check out the guide below.

From the sunny skies of Greece to the mountain tops of Switzerland, the volcanic ranges in Iceland and sandy beaches of Hawaii see some of the best websites and apps to look for booking your next trip.

Looking for.... flights

Whether you want a last minute getaway or a long term adventure, booking flights are an important step in any trip, so making sure you get the best value, time and place are key! Here are some of my top places to look for flights.

One of the most trusted sites, Skyscanner is a metasearch engine and travel agency that's based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Available in over 30 languages and is used by over 100 million people per month it's the first place I look for flights. It's got amazing features, which include their explore everywhere and whole month search function, so if you're not sure on where to go or when it'll give you the freedom to choose.

Flights from wherever you are to wherever you want to go... An easy to use search engine with great filters, to narrow down the perfect date and time, even airline. This is a great option if you are looking to book a package with hotels or car hire, as you get a discounted price as one number, this makes it budget friendly. A little bit more on that later!

"Find the best flights fast, track prices, and book with confidence." Is their promise and they do deliver. This is normally the first place that gets these surprise discounts throughout the year - they only last a few days and can be quite the bargain if you're lucky to find them. They search over 300 airline and online travel agency partners, so you're sure to give a very comprehensive search.

Looking for... hotels

With over 20,000 holiday places across the UK and Ireland, this is the first place I look for a weekend staycation. There is such a wide range to pick from so there's something for everyone, from pet-friendly cottages and large holiday homes to cottages with hot tubs. You can search by county or by holiday type as well as the usual filters! Also awarded for the last nine years the "Best Large UK Cottage/Self Catering Company" at the British Travel Awards, so you know you are booking with the best.

Now I have a love/hate relationship with Airbnb, I love finding all of the unique places to stay and meeting some incredible hosts however sometimes you do pay a bit more for the privilege. That does not stop me from recommending it as a search site, as I tend to find a property I like, give them a quick search on Instagram and they most likely have their own website, which sometimes gives you a discount by booking directly through them. I have more often than not booking through Airbnb especially if it's with a large group of friends.

You can also get Avios rewards too, bonus!

I have booked over seven stays through booking.com over the last eight months... They tend to be the cheapest option and are great for offering you options if your favoured hotels is already booked. With their genius programme you get rewarded too for booking through them, just for signing up you get 10% off your stay with participating properties. As I'm a genius level 2 member, I get a 10% -15% discount on my stay, free breakfast and free room upgrade!

Looking for... Car hire

The number one car rental loyalty program for the UK and Europe! By joining their Hetz Gold Plus Rewards programme you can skip the counter and head straight to your car, no fuss. Earn points while driving and then redeem them for free rental days and upgrades. I've used this company many times in Italy, Germany and France with never any problems. They also partner with American Express for even more deals and discounts, as their preferred supplier. I've had free driving days and 10% discounts on most of my trips.

With over 3,835 location in over 140 countries this is a more affordable option with a wide range of options from cars to vans, hybrid to electric and everything in between. Their customer service is excellent and I've felt very safe with them each time I have hired a car. They also have a loyalty program and 10% off your first your first car.

They really do it all, from cars to hotels and car rental. It's your one stop shop for all things booking, hence the name! Build your perfect trip on any budget. If you're looking to save some pennies and you know you'll need a flight, hotel and car I always do it through Booking.com, it saves time and a lot of effort comparing prices from one brand to another, as it does this all for you.
